Welcome to Creekside Boston Terriers

Welcome to Creekisde Boston Terries which is a small family business managed by I and my wife. We are very experienced owners and breeders of Boston Terriers, having owned and been involved in dogs all of our lives.

We strive to breed happy, healthy dogs, who are of sound temperament and type who conform to the breed standard for both breeds as well as Fit For Function. Therefore we health test all of our breeding dogs, the health tests for our Bostons include patella scoring, heart testing and regular BVA Eye examinations for Late Onset Hereditary Cataracts. In addition to this all of our Bostons are either ‘DNA tested Clear’ or born ‘Hereditary Clear’ of Juvenile Hereditary Cataracts, meaning ALL Boston Terrier puppies bred by us are born ‘Hereditary Clear’ of JHC. ABOUT THE BOSTON TERRIER BRRED

The Boston Terrier, Known as the American Gentleman, took his name from the area where he was developed – in this case the New England city of Boston USA. The first club was founded in the 1890s in Boston and membership was confined to Bostonians. However, its fame soon spread throughout America and by the 1950s it was the most popular breed in the USA.

The Boston is the smallest of the Bull breed i.e. containing Bulldog blood. The founding father of the breed is reputed to be a dog known as Hooper’s Judge, born in Liverpool, a cross between a Bulldog and an English White Terrier and exported to America. He inherited the brindle markings from the Bulldog and white markings from the Terrier, with the smart brindle/white being the accepted colour of the breed to this day. The colour pattern of white on legs, chest, collar and head make the Boston a very ‘Dandy’ dog and the term ‘Boston marked’ is sometimes applied to other breeds with similar color patterns.

The Boston Terrier breed has a life span of about 13 to 15 years and will weigh about 15 to 25 pounds and 15 to 17 inches tall when fully grown.

ABOUT US, OUR STORY

Creekside Boston Terrier LLC is a licensed Kennel controlled and managed by I and my wife , and my 3 daughters and son. We might get some other family members, friends & volunteers to help us from time to time at the Ranch.
We own a 14 Acre Ranch where we live and breed our animals. Our Primary activity is breeding & Raising Boston Terriers for family pets and therapy dogs. But we also have AKC Registered DAMS & SIRES from champion bloodlines which are our Stud Dogs & Family Pets. We also own over a dozen Dorset Horses & some kinder goats and rabits.

I have always been a breeder, from growing up on a farm in where we bred Horses, goats & cattle for livestock to graduating from Kirkwood as a Vet Tech. My turning point to focus on breeding is when I met my wife, then a pet groomer & Sitter it’s like we were almost destined for each other. I was always the busy type, everyday schedule from farm to farm, to Vet lab examinations, animal checkups. After My wife gave birth to our 2nd daughter she had Postpartum psychosis and I had to be there for her and our babies. We got a certified Therapy dog Boston Terrier to help with her treatment and after a month of treatment she was feeling better being herself again. It united our family, brought us so much healing and love. That’s when I took the decision I wanted this feeling to continue. I quit my job, moved out to the countryside, and bought a 14 Acre Ranch, it’s been all love and happiness since then. Our dogs are like an extension of us, they are our families & we want you to feel the same way we feel about them when you get yours. Do not hesitate to contact us and get a family and life companion.
